We live in a world that values speed, certainty, and efficiency. New tools and technologies are readily available, promising to make our work faster and more effective. Our workplaces and communities have been reshaped by a rapidly changing world, from the lasting effects of a global pandemic to the rise of artificial intelligence. At the same time, we fill our calendars with activities, commitments, and opportunities—often in the hope that more will lead to a fuller life. And many of these things can be good gifts. But as the world accelerates, our attention can become increasingly thin.

Wisdom calls us to slow down enough to pay attention.

As people made in the image of God, we are called to participate faithfully in His good creation. In our work, families, communities, churches, and neighborhoods, we seek ways of living and working that open up the potential of people and the world around us.

This matters more than ever. Artificial intelligence is taking on more of our thinking, writing, and creating. Hybrid and remote work have changed how we relate to teammates and communities. Our children are surrounded by opportunities and activities, yet many experience loneliness.

Across every area of life, we are faced with choices. We need wisdom: the ability to notice what matters, discern what is needed, and respond with care.

At Jubilee Professional 2027, we’ll explore what it means to cultivate an attentive life and practice wisdom in our various callings. Together, we’ll consider how our work, relationships, communities, and everyday choices can make room for greater human flourishing and the unfolding potential of God’s good creation.
